The current schedule includes a hybrid of indoor and outdoor locations, the Martial Arts Academy of Marin at 1414 4th Street, San Rafael and Hal Brown Park, Greenbrae, respectively. Outdoor times are subject to change, so be sure to contact me prior to attending.

Schedule:

  • Tuesday 4 – 5:30 p.m. at Hal Brown Park (Time subject to change due to length of day and student schedules. Be sure to make contact beforehand if it’s your first time.)
  • Friday 6:30 – 8 p.m. at The Martial Arts Academy of Marin
  • Other training times are available for a private session for the outdoor location, at one’s residence, or by scheduling a weekend session at the dojo.

Why outdoors? It started with a need to observe disease safety protocols a few years ago, but the benefits of training outside the dojo kept us there. The fight usually doesn’t happen on a flat, smooth, soft surface, so we should train in spaces that provide practice negotiating uneven terrain while still ensuring a degree of safety. The park’s green is a perfect place to do this while also being a beautiful natural setting with a spectacular view of Mount Tamalpais.

Monetary Commitment:

  • Full Membership (unlimited classes) $100/month
  • Half Membership (5 classes a month) $80/month
  • Private Session $60/hour
  • Walk-in Fee $20

Membership dues are charged at the beginning of each month via Square. Classes are open to adults and teens. No contracts, but there is a 30-day membership cancellation policy. Martial arts instruction is not a product one purchases. Membership dues represent a commitment to oneself and to one’s instructor. It’s up to each student to make the most of the opportunity for growth access to training provides.
